Teaching and Learning Takeover (TLT) began back in 2013 as an opportunity to bring teachers and educators together for free in an effort to collaboratively develop practice.  It has been hosted at the University of Southampton each year and has seen nearly 1000 individuals attend it.  The event has had a host of amazing presenters, each bringing their knowledge and ideas from the classroom to the conference.  At the heart of it, the day is free, is about sharing ideas, and, is about collaboratively developing our own teaching.  You’ll find links to past events and resources on this page so you can catch up on anything you might have missed.  Keep an eye out for updates on this years TLT (#TLT16) here and on social media.

Our very first TLT took place on Sat 19th October 2013.  Organised with no budget at all and spread via word of mouth, over 200 delegates attended the initial event.  The day allowed teachers from all over the UK to come together and hear ideas, strategies and expertise from colleagues within the profession.  The day was kicked off by Jamie Portman whose inspirational story of what a school really means set the tone.  The fantastic David Doherty rounded off the day with his story of how Evil Kenevil and Salvidore Dali should inspire us all!
